About Treetops Hospice

Treetops Hospice are offering an exciting opportunity for qualified volunteer counsellors to join our clinical team within a thriving counselling and emotional support service, run by a group of passionate and hardworking staff and supported by a large team of volunteer counsellors and student counsellors.

Our Counselling and Emotional Support Service offers free counselling and support to adults, children, and young people (aged between 7-18), who have experienced a bereavement. We also offer counselling and support to adults that are dealing with a life-limiting illness and their family members. This is provided through regular face-to-face, one-to-one sessions within two bespoke counselling centres.
We are an organisational member of the BACP and a Centre of Excellence within the field of bereavement and loss, adopting a trauma-informed approach to our work. Our team have a strong reputation for supporting a large body of volunteer and trainee counsellors which is backed up by an efficient administrative team. We have an excellent standing for providing a high-quality professional service which ensures that we get a good rate of referrals from GPs, other health service professionals, social care, and schools.

As a Centre of Excellence, we aim to create an environment of learning and development within our field of expertise. By volunteering with our service, you will be joining a team of skilled professionals delivering high quality therapy, offering you the opportunity to enhance your skills and theoretical learning through ongoing training opportunities, networking, and support. We provide free monthly training workshops and monthly group supervision. The clinical staff team work from the Person-Centred perspective, although we welcome counsellors from all counselling modalities.
