Overview

The new wildflower meadows are looking wonderful but they need help! Could you use your skills as a gardener to grow the natural beauty of the viaduct? Work with our bee and butterfly management plan, support rewilding at a post-industrial site and get involved in future community growing projects.

The viaduct is a disused heritage railway bridge that has been reopened for walking and cycling. Based on the Nottinghamshire-Derbyshire border between Ilkeston and Awsworth. It also has natural habitats underneath, being expanded to promote the growth of its rare wildlife, plants, and insects. We also run outreach and education sessions in the local area. No experience is required, training will be provided, and we are flexible on time commitments. We are a small team and may have limited places available.
