Overview

Elvaston Castle and Gardens Trust are embarking on an exciting project to clear the overgrown waterways and we need your help!

If you enjoy being outdoors, don’t mind getting a little grubby and love making a difference this opportunity is for you.

Elvaston rangers and wardens run a weekly mid-week volunteer group that provides invaluable help in managing and maintaining the core historic gardens.

On Thursdays a small group of volunteer gardeners grow fruit and vegetables at an on-site allotment, funded by selling the produce in the Elvaston shop.

Every fortnight a group of conservation volunteers work with us on a Sunday to manage Elvaston’s local nature reserve.

Our volunteer group is a really fun way to meet new people, stay healthy, learn new skills and make a real difference to the park. It is also a great way to build your confidence and gain experience of work within the environmental sector.

Elvaston’s volunteer group currently has around 20 members, from various backgrounds and ages. We welcome people with all levels of experience; the only thing we ask for is enthusiasm!
