Overview
The Long Eaton & District Talking Newspaper for the Blind and Partially Sighted has been operating for 45 years providing its free service its 150 listeners on a three-weekly basis.
Every three weeks, 55 local stories are gathered via the internet by their two LETN Volunteer Editors on a rota basis.
These stories are emailed to their 30 LETN Volunteer Readers who record them on a variety of devices and then send them back to the LETN Volunteer Tech Team for sending out on memory sticks to their LETN Listeners who are all supplied with memory stick players, free of charge.
The Talking Newspaper is looking for more editors to join the team. A journalistic background would be helpful but isn’t totally necessary since full training is given.
