Overview

VOLUNTEER AT OUR NEW CHARITY SHOP, OPENING AT THE END OF MAY 2024!

Without retail store volunteers we could not have our shops!

Volunteers are hugely important to our work on the high street where we raise the profile of Rainbows, sell products and generate essential money to support the work of the hospice. As a shop volunteer you are part of a team who are the friendly voice and welcoming face of Rainbows for shoppers and visitors to our shops.

Typical tasks the work could involve:
• Provide a warm and welcoming environment and the very best in customer service
• Serving customers at the till, wrapping goods, handling cash and credit card payments
• Ensure shelves, rails and the shop window are well displayed with stock and refreshed on a regular basis
• Assist with displays in all areas of the shop including the shop window
• Sort and arrange any donated items ready for sale (steaming, hanging, deciding on a price in accordance with the pricing guidelines, ticketing and displaying).

Will it suit me?
If you love speaking to a wide variety of people and would enjoy the variety of working in a shop, displaying and selling Rainbows own products and donated items, this volunteer role is perfect.

You do not need previous retail experience but do need to be a good communicator, like to ‘get stuck in’ and thrive in working as part of a fun-loving team.
