Overview
As a Trustee you will be required to attend Trustee and Planning meetings.
The Secretary of the Association will:
1) In consultation with the chairman, plan and prepare membership, Trustee and planning meetings
to include agendas and sending out notifications to the appropriate people including those for
AGM’s and EGM’s.
2) take and copy up the minutes of meetings and distribute them to the Membership Secretary and
committee members as appropriate.
3) Report on correspondence received and write letters where appropriate.
During the summer months Member, Trustee and Planning Meetings are held at the ECP&DA owned
Sandiacre Lock Cottages or at the Langley Mill Cottage. During the winter months, meetings are
generally held by Zoom conferencing. Members’ meetings take place monthly and Trustee and Planning

The Secretary will be well organised, have good listening and literacy skills.
They will have an enquiring mind to research and understand the goals of the ECP&DA.
They will have access to, and ability to use, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and, ideally, Adobe Acrobat
to create PDF files.
Any knowledge of how to use social media, particularly Facebook, would be a bonus.

The restoration, reconstruction, preservation and maintenance of the Erewash Canal and associated
waterways. Its buildings, towing path, structures and craft and the conservation of its natural character as a
navigable inland waterway system for the benefit of the public.
